BMW tps questions

Hey guys ive got a quick question, I got from a BMW tps from a 325xi (my buddy has a partout business so i got it for $20) anyway its not the recomended one that everyone tends to use, on the plus its pnp, but it does not mount the same. I made an adaptor for it but my adapter does not have an o-ring that seals against the throttle body. My question is am I going to experience a vacume leak because of this. Ill get some pictures up in a few minutes.
Thanks for the input,
Mike

providing its tight i dont think you will, would it be possible to put a small ammount of gasket maker between where you think it might leak? that might be one way to help, even on the outside of the joins might

I was also thinking about the gasket maker idea. i may have to through some on just to be safe. I guess well find out if its leaking once i get it tuned.
Any more thoughts welcome,
Thanks again,
Mike

I use the same TPS and used paper gasket material to seal it

btw, do you just have the steel plate from the original TPS between the throttle body and the BMW TPS or is there another spacer in there?

The shaft on my throttle body was long enough that I needed at least a 6mm spacer in between which is why I stuck that block in there.

I ended up taking a hack saw to the shaft to cut it down, then i just took a piece of aluminum, cut it up, riveted the tps on to the plate with pop rivets then bolted the assembily up to the throttle body.

ah, that explains it.

I thought it would have been convenient to shorten the shaft but I didn't want to cut it... must make it a lot easier getting the TPS on and off though.
