BP4W Block on 2002 VVT. Will it work
I messed up the block on my 2002 VVT and I can get a 99 short block locally cheap. Will it work with my VVT head?
Thanks |
Yes.
Although vvt block is 10:1 compression and 99 block is 9.5:1. |
If you have, or will be adding a coolant re-route, it is best to use the '99 head gasket. If not, then the '02 head gasket has some non-reroute flow improvements to cylinder #4.
What Borka said. Though I'm pretty sure the difference in CR is the pistons, so you could swap them. Job just grew... If you are Forced Induction, the 9.5:1 will be a good thing. DNM |
Smaller thrust bearing, different oil pan baffle, different motor mount brackets. Those last two can be remedied by swapping the oil pan.
