BP5A Cam info

Just wanted to share some links with good BP5A cam info.

BP5A/MSM Intake Cam Swap Dyno Results

While not the best cam available for a NA application it does offer a great bump in performance for the money. In my supercharged application the extra lift without much duration increase will be welcome.

I really like that second link, thanks for posting.

For even less money, looks like doing the exhintake for the NB would be just as good/slightly better than BP5A too

Thanks for sharing that link. Its good to finally see a solid graph of the difference. This makes me wonder where the 6hp figure on the 949 site comes from though. I guess maybe thats corrected for drivetrain loss?

I like how the car gains 3hp and the owner says "It's like a different car." Totally objective opinion I'm sure.

I really want this to be worth something, it'd be nice to see a few more FI back to back dynos.

Look at the max RPM of the dyno. The BP5A cam is still climbing and the stock cam has flattened out. If the redline is increased (like most tunes) the delta becomes greater. Who knows what RPM they ran it to cause it's measured in MPH.

the 949 site says on an "otherwise stock 99-00".

Like that second link, so it looks like the duration on the Exhintake set up is only a little short of most aftermarket camshaft sets. The main difference is that the aftermarket cams have more lift.
