Good thing that pic is not your head. It's honestly hard to tell for me if that can cause problems for your build. Obviously that surface is not in contact with moving parts and can not leak oil xD

But like been said before, this kind of build requires precision. The cap does need to seat perfectly, there is not a hair of tolerance on bearings like these.

I used a rubber mallet and they just wouldn't budge, it was getting very frustrating, I looked up how people got caps off that were stuck and they said a screw driver with a shop towel so I tried it and it worked fine on the 2 stuck ones. The only spots that are scraped are under the caps, I assume I should be fine because nothing went from end to end of the surface it's just a few spots. next time use a deadblow hammer. works every time.. 15 bucks at harbor freight. use the hard plastic side.

That sure looks like melted aluminum on the underside/inside of the cam cap in the top part of the picture.
