China 2854 or Garrett 2560? Stock 99 motor

So I have in my possession a China 2854 from Begi and a Garrett 2560. This will be on my 99 (stock motor) with an FM Mani and dp. Supporting mods include, WI and MS2. I'm not as brave/stupid as some people so I only plan to run at about 250-260 whp. So with all that in mind, which would you use? I drove for a long time on a 2854 so I know what it feels like, but I've never driven a car with a 2560.

2560. you will be in ecstasy at how fast it spools and youll be right in its efficiency range at the power level you want so itll feel nice and crisp.

Braineack 10-20-2010 10:45 AM

thats what i told him.

if you're looking for mid 200's and stock block 2560 will give you the benefit of quick spool and being closer to its efficiency range.

I agree with the two homo's above me:D

miataspeed2005 10-20-2010 10:59 AM

2560

I have a 2560. 2560 is the tits.

spoolin2bars 10-20-2010 11:13 AM

since you have both on hand, the 2560.
the chinacharger is only an option when you don't have the cash for a garrett

Thank you +1

I think the 2854 actually flows less than the 2560. So the 2560.

Full_Tilt_Boogie 10-20-2010 11:43 AM

The BEGi 2854 was what was on the motor when I had it, and was responsible for my boost creep. So I wouldnt bother with that thing just for that reason.

the only reason it does die is becuase the boost was dropping. that's saint_foo's old dyno.

aaronc7 10-20-2010 01:53 PM

so looks like he has a NA 1.8 with 99 head.... some sort of different intake cam...14psi ish, im sure i missed some of it. Im gonna be putting a 2560 on as well and want to hold torque the best i can, stock motor as well.

Braineack 10-20-2010 02:19 PM

97 block, 99 head, MSM intake cam, absurdflow Ex., BEGi Cast IM. 14psi dropping to 12psi

aaronc7 10-20-2010 02:36 PM

thank you sir

Let's see....dual ball bearing, well made turbo that spools like a Mexican who just jumped the boarder or chinese tin slow spooling journal bearing turd that will divide by zero and self implode?

Well when you put it that way... lol

Another +1 for the 2560, even though you already decided.
