Default No oil pressure!!! A little lower end noise now

Hey guys

Well im sure this will get a few laughs but what the hell ill ask anyways.....

I bought a 2000 with a bad motor!?!?!?! It is reading no oil pressure but still starts it does have some slight lower end noise , So the question is if the oil pump is bad will it cause the lower end noise? and is it possible that if I change the oil pump will the noise go away without changing any internals? prob hard to answer without a hearing but is it possible if no damage has been done to the crank, bearing ,rod ect??

Thanks and advance

Jack the passenger side of the car up and look at the oil pressure sensor and make sure that the connector plugged onto the prong is fully seated.

That I will do thanks! If the pumps bad do you think it would naturally make noise?

if there is no oil pressure, and there is noise coming from the bottom end, the engine will need to be rebuilt.

I thought about offering the guy $500 for it, but I didn't have a source for a motor.

So what kind of noise are we talking about? Like horrible grinding sounds or just regular motor noise?

^^ Sounds like a spun rod bearing, or the BP4W thrust bearing gayness (cyl #4).

If you get a cheap block/engine, $700 still sounds like a good deal.

Welcome.

just work the block you have the car is obviusly not driveable the way it is now so why go throught the extra expense of buying another motor.

You can't get the pan off in the car anyway, so just pull the motor.

Pulling the engine is a 2 hour affair if you work slowly.
