Crank end play, thrust bearing gap
Hey guys, I'm assembling my forged motor. I noticed my thrust washer and crank surface have a visible gap between the two. I measured the end play and it's at .009
My machinist tells me tolerance is .002 to .011 I can move the crank forward and backward my hand and this has me nervous. I've never put together a motor with crank walk in brand new form... seems crazy to me. Press forward? Or is there a solution such as thicket thrust bearings? I have only seen one part number available. Thanks |
I heard somewhere that there are 4 different sizes for thrust bearings but cant remember where. Maybe call Mazdaspeed (800-435-2508)? I think that is too much endplay for a "new" motor as well.
