Never trust that a brand new throw out bearing is assembled properly and ready to use right out of the box.
That is all. |

That is all. I'm now assembling a new motor with correct end play while its out of the car but definitely would like to avoid repeating the experience. |
Was it a part from Mazda Comp or from some other source?

second thrust bearing was an ACL throwout bearing is whatever 949 sends with their twin race clutch. |

I'd be interested in hearing more about this. I had a very similar issue with my motor and got about 800 miles out of it before it was toasted. Ultimately I tracked it down to the rear thrust bearing being eaten and other issues resulting from that failure.

Please excuse my lack of comprehension; what you are saying is that the throw-out bearing was pushing constantly on the clutch springs, causing the clutch springs to push the crank shaft against the thrust bearing full time?
Same condition as pushing in the clutch to start the motor, but not releasing completely when the clutch pedal was released? Or, saying it a different way, sitting with the clutch pedal depressed while the engine is running? Seems like there is more to your problem than a bad throw-out bearing. Check further before you have an instant replay, please. |
