Custom ignition wires.

I am going to be using these coils:
https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1327453151 So I need Miata spark plug end, and HEI coil end. Does anyone have any info on where I can get some made, or premade? |
Magnacore will make you custom spark plug wires. They run around $100 depending on the lengths of the plugs

Magnecor. Call them - have wires in 2 days. Not the cheapest - about $110 for the set. You won't have to worry about wires again.
How much for the coils? Look identical to DIY - IGN1A. How I installed the coils/wires... |
They are identical.
$72 from Renown DIY wants 67, and I don't think they come with the connector to wire them($5 from DIY) Which surprisingly adds up to the cost of the AEM, so i'm going with the AEM. Since we are on the subject of Magnecor. Should I get the 8.5mm or the race 10mm. anybody have any experience. |
If you mount the coils like I did, 8.5mm. Thicker wires will have a larger bend radius. It would be difficult getting in the double bend in a thicker wire. If you mount the coils so that you have longer wires then you can use 10's.

the classic broken oil dip stick, lol very neat setup |
I really wish the VVT valve cover was flat on that side so I could make some nice mounts like that for my LS2 coils.

Here is a shot during fabrication , not finished but you get the idea. I've used rivnuts to mount the coils.I had a commercial kitchen frabricator I know brake the stainless ,the had at it with a plasma cutter and die grinder.

I rather not have my coils on the hot side. I am afraid of the heat there from my turbo. Also the LS2 coils I have are around shape so you cannot easily mount them flat. I have mine up on brackets above my IM, it is not at pretty as I would like, but it is functional.

I think you will find that the wing will capture the radiated heat, and conduct it throughout your metal bracket; you need a two-piece arrangement with the "wing" insulated [gasket material?] from the mounting
|
I've thought about that . I have another piece of stainless I may rivot to the underside of the wing , spaced off with some washers creating an air space. I'll see if it's needed before I start getting creative.
