Davefab Radiator / Intercooler kit

Looking for some input/thoughts on the potential cooling capacity of this cooling combo:
Attachment 229621 Crossflow radiator core is: W365mm x H360mm x 42mm thick, with endtanks 455mm wide. Intercooler core is: W460mm x H160mm x 76mm thick, with endtanks 620mm wide. Product link: https://davefab.com/shop/mx5-interco...adiator-combo/ The width/height of radiator is smaller than usual miata size, but I'm not sure how frontal area vs. thickness matters for a radiator in for cooling capacity. For a similar price there are options like the 949 Crossflow + the 350HP Precision / TSE intercooler. I'm thinking in terms of cooling they're going to be higher capacity (obviously in the case of the intercooler) and have the advantage of being proven solutions but are likely more expensive once I ship them across the world... Questions: 1. The turbo build I'm looking at will be within limits of stock block (~210wtq for reliability). Is this intercooler sufficient? If I build an engine in the future, will it be a limiting factor? 2. Thoughts on radiator cooling capacity being sufficient? |
I can say with a high level of certainty that you will overheat a 200whp car with that setup on a road course if driven to the limit of the car.

Thanks for the input. That was my worry when I found out the core sizes. Will stick with tested solutions I think.

I can say with a high level of certainty that a 300whp car with that setup on a road course if driven to the limit of the car will not over heat.

Positioning of the IC is wrong. The single-core rad might be too narrow and definitely is too thick (our rads are thicker but dual-core), but it might still work if it weren't for the FMIC blocking all of the airflow to it. As is, the IC is too high to allow any air to the radiator, so it's going to overheat in warm or hot weather.
