Default Detonation damage on cylinder and piston

I pulled the engine after I found out that there was some serious detonation present. Now I need some help what todo. The scoring in the cylinder is bad, but when I go over with my nail it barely not catches. But almost half of the cylinder is effected by the scoring.

I'm hoping to replace the pistons and do a hone so that I don't have to bring the engine to the shop. Or have the pistons reworked by turning? What do you guys think?

15 PSI turbo with some trackday application.

There is only one solution:
Rebuild engine.
You don't want a different set of pistons in that block and if the rest is good, go a bit deeper.
Put in some forged rods and +1mm pistons and you are good to go.

Thank you for the reply. The pistons are already +1. And the rods are forged as well. So bigger pistons is not an option.

Go 84,5 or 85mm. If you can't really feel the scratches, +0,5 is more than enough.
Plenty of options to keep that short block running

No cross hatch left. The bores are smoked. No single ball hone will fix that.

That's going to a machine shop whether you like it or not
