does this have the same head?

I am at the junk yard right now typing on my phone. I have found a 94 mazda mx5 with a dohc 1.6 that looks real close to my 92. Does anybody know if this head matches up to mine or is there any useful parts to rob off of it?

1994s were built with 1.8L engines, unless you are not in the US. The engine swap would be beneficial if the engine is in good shape.

sorry hit the wrong button on my phone. it is not a mx5 but a mx3.

4 cyl mx-3's had the same block as 1.6 miatas, should be the same head too unless something's different due to fwd fitment.

the differences in the head should be similar to the fwd/rwd BP changes. i.e. bolt-on parts and freeze plugs.

I have some conflicting information.

The 323 with the 1.6 was available in both SOHC and DOHC versions, but I can't pinpoint which years got which head. They are all variants of the B6 platform however, so if it is a 1.6L DOHC, the head should fit, assuming the manifolds and accessories are transplanted from the Miata.

The mx-3 went from sohc to dohc in 1994.

I didn't get it yet but I will be going back tomarrow after some research tonight. I wonder how different the cams maybe there is potential like the protege exhaust cam swap for the 1.8 guys.
