easy way to get the rubber exhaust hangers off??
 

Been a while since i've been under there. I remember lubing up the area, then taking a screw driver and trying to pry the exhaust of the hangers. Any other tips I may have forgotten?

wd40 plus any sort of pry bar.

PB blaster and shove a sturdy screwdriver in next to the metal hanger if it has a "bubble" at the end of it.

If your muscling it, wear gloves! I've had several busted knuckles from working with the rubber isolators.

wd40, prybar, lots of twisting and pulling... disconnect part of the exhaust if necessary....

Worst case scenario...cut the rubber bushing and buy a new one for 5 bucks.

Dont use WD40, use windex. WD stays slimy.

yup that the way i've done it before, really hoping there was an easier way. I might be lazy and just change my oil and leave the mid-pipe alone till later.

I just use my bare hands and pull them off.

Do some of you guys really use oil and pry bars? :bowrofl:

They're on tight. I just pull them off with force though. I never even thought about using tools or oil to take them off.

You must have been born knowing how to remove the rubbers..... Even after fighting with them for 8-9 years, I can still barely get them on.... and when I do, they are even harder to take off!

i also cut the little nipples off my hangers while my exhaust was off just in case it needed to come off ever again, and it did.

there is a tool for it my mac tools distributer carries them there like 20 bucks and have paid for themselfs more than once. they are likt a pair of pliers with a fork on one end and just a bent post on the other and they work awsome!
