OK so I went to a shop today-- Burtonsville Machine in MD and they said it would cost 2000-3000 to just deck, hone, balance crank, disassemble/reassemble, magnaflux, hottank. That seems ouchy pricey. They were also unfriendly so they lose. Plus, they didn't really have specific experience with BPs. Mostly domestic.
Anyone know of a good spec miata friendly engine shop in the DC area? I figure they would at least know the BP. |
I forget the name of the shop but it just moved to Summit Point and has spec miata experience.
Scott/Braineack has also used one of the Fairfax Auto Parts but again I forget which. |

RP Performance, they are more into RX7s than miatas, they moved to Summit Point Raceway.

Not trying to sound like some power-bottom snappy ------, but from what I understand a turbo track motor is built significantly different from a NA track motor...like the other-end of the spectrum. Just consider that, because they may know exactly what to do or may borrow logic from SM.
