Engine Build -Benefits of Sleeving / Downsides
Hey all..so I'm changing the title of this thread b/c I dont think too many people have encountered what I've encountered. So I'm asking a different question... It's likely that I've damaged the outer cylinder wall of my #4 piston when trying remove the rear freeze plug. So if the outer cylinder damage is sufficient to warrant concern, I will be looking at sleeving the cylinders. Are there downsides (other than cost) to sleeving the cylinder?
Here is where I suspect the damage is.. you can see I tried to use a carbide grinding bit and likely have no space behind it. https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...6844b67afe.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...465c4cad69.jpg Let me know your thoughts about cylinder sleeves. Thanks |
