Engine building course
 

Hey everyone,

I was wondering if anyone knew of any comprehensive and hands on quality engine building courses that are offered in Florida, preferrably in the Tampa Bay area. I want to learn how to build an engine myself the right way and learn best hands on. I would get someone I know to teach me but sadly I have the hardest time finding friends that are into cars and actually know anything about the mechanics.

The biggest 2 things to keep in mind, is clean everything, and once you have it clean, go clean it again.
the other is lube, a thin coat of oil on any internal part, always helps, if there is not oil drips on the floor under the engine stand as you build a short block, it is too dry.

As far as a school in your area, I think there is a Vo-tech with an auto repair corse.

But go hit Books A Million, or Barns and Noble
Look for books put out by HP Power or Cartech
Engine blue printing
How to rebuild a Small block chevy
Auto Math Handbook is another good one
