epoxy or not in bowl?

https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...10bd6c7e03.jpgHow would you treat the deep gouges/casting flaws on the high side radius ? Smoothing them would direct flow into the back of the valve. I've never epoxyed in the bowl area and I don't know if it'd hold this near to the seat (due to heat?). To weld up, you'd need to remove the seats. What have you done in this area?

The pic doesn't show it well, but most of my intake seats are undercut by a linear gouge on the high side radius about one quarter inch below the seat.

Yes, I did this to a set that I ported recently, the product is made by PSI SSystems Inc. Kneadatite A/B Epoxy Putty Bars (part 40187)
I bought through Manley, as in Manley valves. They have a couple of different kinds, this is specifically for aluminum heads. It has a good reputation from the pro engine builders at speed talk forum.Leave the surface as rough as possible. Clean all dirt off with acetone, compressed air dry. Apply epoxy forcing small bits into the repair area, building up a little more than you want. Finish to desired shape. Hope this helps -- JB
