exhaust and intake port spacing and diameter the same?

Is the exhaust and intake port spacing and diameter the same? I assume the spacing is. How about the port diameter?

I am thinking about doing something awesome with my crappy china tubular.

Think sea creatures.

OK but you'll need a fuel rail and injector bungs.

Sssshhh!!! Don't say nothin'!

Not when he's running DirectExhaustInjection.

Add Hypers coolant re-route and Amaks superawesomecoating and you have yourself a 10000whp car

99+ rail mounting holes are in the head and so is injector bungs.

I am thinking of creating a variable sized plenum attached to the stainless mouth. This way you have nice small plenum for vacuum driving and big plenum for the boost.

The plenum would swell with more boost.

18psi 04-17-2012 01:44 PM

omfg yes:laugh:

I don't forsee boost leaks resulting from this AT ALL:giggle:

Miater 04-17-2012 01:47 PM

I've got parts that swell with more boost.

PM for before and after.

Full_Tilt_Boogie 04-17-2012 01:57 PM

I smell faelure

EO2K 04-17-2012 02:11 PM

The best part about this is regardless of what you tell him, he's going to try it anyway.

So what would be an ideal compound of rubber to use?

It needs the following specs

puncture resistant
oil resistant
heat resistant to 200*
can swell 4x volume at 40psi (1x volume per 13psi)
flexible neck to wrap around the exhaust intake flange and tie tight with string

I'm pretty sure you are already familiar with the 4.5" x 2' straight black hose... :pitlab:
Dunno about the 4x expansion though... maybe an unreinforced eGay version of the above?

fae,
your anus meets all the criteria sweetie

***Assume that the port spacing and diameter are very different.***

Making the port spacing and diameter the same would be the easiest part of the build.

Cut head off, attach neck to throttle body, cut foot off, attach leg to charge pipe.

you would think I'd remember how the injectors mount since I have to reinstall my stock ones every two years. durp.

fluorinated silicone.

but remember: swelling is lagging. just plumb the turbo into the collector.

Good idea about putting the turbo in the collector.

Even better idea!

Why not flip the turbo around and put the turbine on the intake and the compressor on the exhaust. This way you could avoid the hotside plumbing issues!

and make your exhaust lighter by making it all aluminum. brilliant

Aluminum turbo manifold with water jacket?

No, I was thinking of using a screen door mesh. It is all about surface area and the mesh can still funnel the air through the "pipe"
