I'm done. I don't have time for this stupid crap.

Thanks all for your help and ideas, its probably something really small and really stupid, and I just don't have time to keep messing with it with the kid growing up and my crazy schedule. I know the engine is perfect, there is literally nothing else to check. Everything is going for sale, then the car as well.

Vlad, why don't you take a break before selling everything? Starting over is going to take a lot longer than dropping this for a month then solving it 5 minutes after you pick it up again in a month.

Take a few days off to clear your head before you start selling **** at least.

According to his FS thread he is going to be selling the whole car.

Vlad are you planning on getting another or abandoning the miata world altogether?!?!

I highly doubt he would sell this setup if he just planned on getting another one and starting over entirely.

That said, as much as I don't want you to sell it.. i understand. There are more important things out there than cars, and god DAMN do these things get frustrating when nothing goes right.

Good luck sir.

Roll the whole thing to someone else to tinker with for a week or two?
Get it out of your sight and maybe running.

Logs for what it's worth...

Btw- how about you hold off on selling everything until you put the stock motor in the car. If the stock motor doesn't start then you will have to fix it anyways to get any money for it.

LOL I won't have time til probably this weekend to even start pulling anything, so if you all got any simple/easy things for me to try I'll try em for sure. But its getting quite obvious that we're starting to grasp at straws. I tried pretty much every single thing suggested over these pages and pages of discussion.

I have about 30 minutes to an hour a day to spend on this car this week lol
If I fire up the car I will not sell anything. Period.

I'm curious what your plans with the car are once you sell this setup? I mean, assuming the engine setup is all correct (which it seems), yet it wont run on the stock ECU. What happens when you put a stock motor/ecu in the car and it wont fire up? LOL, are you going to sell just the shell?

Just making sure you are thinking this through, I'm trying to be logical here, but what are the chances it wont even startup with a 100% stock motor, ecu, etc?

That's a valid concern, and I'm getting a ton of questions like this, so I'll break it down.

coolstorybro.jpg/

This was/is my dream NB. Basically if I ever wanted to build a miata and pretty much do it how I want, "best bang for my buck, in my opinion", this is it. As you know this isn't my 1st or even 2nd time around the block, I know what I want and how I want it. I patiently waited for this specific year, ext color, int color, and condition of NB to pick up. I found it and got it. I specifically wanted one that needed a paint job, so that I could give it a fresh coat of paint, make it shine . Then I wanted all the stuff the SE has, so I bought a totalled SE and swapped over all the cool stuff: bigger brakes, better bracing, etc etc etc. This car is kinda sorta "one of a kind" that way. Then hardtop, then the mods began.
My whole thought process when I was doing this one was "ONE LAST HOORAH". I sold my beloved forester XT because it was a family car, and I wanted to have just one more sports car in my stable until switching to family cars because of the kid(s). I bought the vette, had my fun on it, and in the same time frame was working on the miata and making it perfect. Just having fun with sports cars.
Then, we got pregnant. With our 1st child. We waited 6 years before deciding to have kids, and we were/are stoked. He's the perfect kid anyone could ask for. I love him more and more every day.
He's now 4 months old, and ever since we found out about the pregnancy, the whole question about the miata no longer being practical came up. We decided on keeping the miata, keeping "her" family car, and we would get by no problem with the miata being 100% daily driver to work for me, and her car being the family hauler. Later I bought my current 04 WRX wagon because I want a fun car that I can still haul my whole family in while I finished up the miata.

So here we are: the miata is not practical for me, but I kept justifying it because of how awesome it is and how much I did to it. But I'm OCD and frugal. I can't justify 2 cars for no reason whatsoever. I can easily have a 4 seater that is FUN and PRACTICAL, so the miata is suddenly even less needed in my life right now. I can make another car, a 4 seater just as fast, just as fun, and it will also haul my family. With this recent crap, it is merely a "feather that broke the camels back" sort of situation. I am not parting it out simply because I can't figure out the no-start issue.

Make sense?

Indeed there is someone up here who needs an NB shell. I didn't want to be a vulture, however.

And Plan A also requires a full, running car as well, since I don't have cash to buy a shell and I can't finance a non-running car.

Vlad, you also didn't answer fireindc's question... what if you put a stock engine back in and it still doesn't start? Then what?

I take a sawzall to it.....obviously

We'll see what happens. 1 thing I know I don't have time for though is 2 engine swaps. And I got kids drooling over my car every day locally, I'm sure I'll still sell it quick even without engine.....if it comes to that

Please don't do it - the Log's obviously show that it is a very small problem...
The car doesn't start because it is loosing sync due to the not correct intake cam reading...

I had a look at the thread - did you happen to post your MSQ anywhere?

Have you considered finding a third party that can look at it? Possibly even a dealer since you are on the stock injectors and ECU at this juncture. Sure, you could get grief, but it would be worth it if the problem is solved.
