flywheel bolts
in general, do you guys replace the flywheel bolts whenever you take the flywheel off? i've just been adding blue loctite and re-using them... but after seeing this video i'm feeling a little worried:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_vBWt...layer_embedded the camera man could have lost his legs if that flywheel went back instead of forward... in my escort the transmission of course is on the drivers side |
Reuse the bolts. They probably overtightened/stressed the bolts in that car.

I was thinking buying a set of these would be pretty neat:
ARP 251-2802 - ARP Pro Series Flywheel Bolt Kits - Application - SummitRacing.com but then again thats another $50 spent that gained me nothing lol |
holy shit balls!
That would suck. Bad flywheel bolts can't be the only reason for the whole transmission to fall out would it? |
well the flywheel bolts let go, on its way out the flywheel sheared the bellhousing completely off, and the trans fell out
