Default No oil pressure 99 built engine

Hey guys so I built my engine a year or two ago and have probably 10k or so miles on her. She's been running fine, last night I put her on some jack stands and fixed my ac, fixed my radiator leak, etc.. Then I drove from North Austin to San Antonio. No problems with the dummy oil gauge. So this morning I started it to head to school and the gauge stayed at 0. I shut it off right away and then later when I got a chance I took off my turbo oil feed line and cranked it over and got no oil coming out. Oil level is good. I have the be street/strip pump. Anyone have any advice to check out prior to pulling the engine?

Nope no oil on the ground. Doing some research and a lot of people have had problems with the relief valve getting stuck open from debris. I had my valve cover off and maybe something fell in. Is there anyway to open said relief valve without pulling the engine?

Pulling the engine is the most surefire way to get to the relief valve. Some people talk about unbolting engine from subframe, and then lifting it up some to remove the oil pan and then putting oil pan back on. I have not seen anyone successfully do it that way.

I'd apply the proper signal at the oil pressure sensor end of the wire and make sure the gauge responds as expected to rule out electrical gremlins. If that and the sensor checks out, then it's time to pull the engine.

Fortunately, you were smart enough to shut it down quickly. You'll be OK either way.

Hey guys so I pulled my engine and removed all the shavings that I had been stupidly ignorant that I put into my engine. I cleaned out all of the oil passageways and removed the spring, cotter pin, and the little thing labeled 6 on the picture. Made sure they were good and reinstalled. I didn't even realize there was that number 8 thing in there. If that is stuck on the stop, would that cause the oil pressure to bleed off? I put my engine back in and still no oil pressure. I used my shop vac on my turbo feed line until some turbo went out but it doesn't seem to be making enough pressure. Plus i broke my stock oil pressure sensor when the engine was out so I'm waiting for another to verify no pressure. It should be squirting out of the turbo oil feed line though...

Remove the oil pump plug that is at the 10 o'clock position when viewed from the front of the engine. Slowly pour or pump oil into that hole to prime the pump. Replace plug and crank engine. See if you get pressure.

If not, pull the engine and inspect relief bore for scratches or gouges and ensure it doesn't stick and that it seats properly.

Did you see any marks in the oil pump gears or housing around them? Any debris between the gears?

Replace your oil pump. I have never heard of anyone successfully R&Ring the oil relief valve plunger.
