If you plan on using either your stock pulley or the fluidamper. DO NOT GET FAB9's TRIGGER WHEEL. unless I'm just dumb and missing the point in this design. For an ATI looks like it might be fine.

Early in my build I bought one of these wheels and...
1. It didn't really fit, so I had to slightly drill the screw holes bigger so they would fit.
2. The teeth on the wheels are kind of small compared to say... FM trigger wheel.
3. As stated above, I think this resulted in me having sync issues at lower rpms. Switch to FM trigger wheel solved this.
3. Sheered all 3 metal tabs connecting the outer ring to the inner ring at 7k at around 290-300hp... 260-270ft lbs?

The ability to run a simple cad program does not imply the ability to design a product.
The holes are for the V1 of fluidampr. Also the small tabs is to remove the center part to fit on an ATI. Mine shattered at 15 psi 2nd gear pull. Destroyed my brand new timing cover, my brand new crank sensor and scratched everything in between. Ordered another from Bofi Racing in UK. When you hold it in your hand, you know the difference.
Why can't you just order the Protege one and cut off one tooth and be done with it?
Because it's relativity inexpensive for a aftermarket trigger wheel? $30 from FM. idk why fab charges so much for theirs. I was just a dummy and bought the wrong one.

Makes sense now. Although they really should've added more tabs. Pretty much same exact thing for me. Did a pull in 2nd gear 16psi. Car lost power. sync loss counter through the roof. Now using FM's trigger wheel. Everything's solid!
LOL, exactly this happened to me. To the tee. I had to oval out the mounting holes in order to get it to even fit on my Fluidampr in the first place (also purchased through fab9). Once I got it installed, it lasted about a week before it failed at about 6500 RPM after a pull where i was engine braking after hard acceleration. I was fortunately not running of the 36-2 yet, and the megasquirt was still using my CAS for timing, so I just drove the car home (with a terrible clinging noise coming from the failed part). I told Bryan at Fab9 about this, and he apologized and whatnot, and gave me a refund - so I can't completely throw them under the bus. However, it was frustrating that I had to take another several hours to re-install the new trigger wheel. I went with the FM unit, it's fantastic, beefy, and does not have any sync issues or anything. Highly recommend.
I too cannot fathom this design. I can't believe he's still selling them after I reported this to him back in April of this year. It fucked my my new timing covers too, but fortunately didn't damage my brand new damper. He told me that he had "never seen that issue before". Comparing this to the FM trigger wheel that replaced it, It's obvious that it's a terrible design and nobody should buy it. I just didn't know any better at the time and bought it from him because I bought the Fluidampr from him as well.

ngl, I thought that was a pic of my old wheel lol. I'll call him Monday and report my issue. Curious on what he'll say.
Just glad nothing major was ruined when it failed.
