Head Gasket

Hello,

I have a blown head gasket and was wondering what you might recommend for a replacement. Manufacterer/type, etc. I'm running an MP62 s/c @ 6psi now. Plans include an A2A intercooler and possibly up to 8psi. Moss Motors recommended an OEM, but I'm leaning towards a Fel-Pro

Thanks!

FelPro will be fine.

Fel pro is the same as oem, except it's 4 ply vs oem 5 ply iirc. Fel pro ones are fine for what your using it for.

How did you blow a head gasket let alone at 6psi? My factory head gaskets have held 18psi on other bp's without complaint.

The OEM gasket is much much nicer then the FelPro. I wish I would have taken pictures of the two side by side.

Use the OEM.

Any four ply metal headgasket, even the EBA ones will do.

But please do NOT buy the cardboard Felpro HG.

The metal ones are much better, I ran 12-15 psi all day on a 4 ply that I took out 2 of them, so it was a 2 ply HG and it never blew up, well the oil pump did, lol.

I recently did the job with a FelPro gasket. So far, so good. Make sure to use ARP studs and not the stock weaksauce.

I saw no difference in "niceness" between OEM and Fel-Pro. I only went through 4 or 5 HG in a few months when I was doing my rebuild, which was full of fail obviously. I've had them side by side and the MLS OEM vs MLS Fel-Pro was pretty much identical. I saw nothing to indicate the OEM would be any better.

Nope! Though I can see how one can point to that. I agree, 6psi shouldn't bother ir at all! I am positive I didn't over heat it. Apparently a small leak for some time. It popped when I started it after sitting for 2 months.

Found a descent price for a Fel-Pro gasket set *AND* ARP stud kit @ EPmiata.

Thanks for everyone's input!!!
