I'm wondering if problem would vary so much as the car warms, if it were do to something as static as plug gap? But I'm open to suggestions.

Update:
I Increased Dwell by 30% and decreased Spark Duration by 33% to align with a known-to-work tune. I'll report back once I drive the car again. Thanks again everyone.

Update:
Wheeeeelp, I give up :sadwavey:. While adjusting the dwell and spark did help the misfire/cutting out, the original hesitation was still very much present. The only way I could avoid the hesitation was through making the car run very rich (high 10.x), where it was a dog on power.

Next Steps:
Why of course, throw more money at the problem! :ugh: My Trackspeed COP kit is in the mail. Fingers crossed this magically fixes it :ugh:

Anyone want to recommend what plugs to run for a 20psi build?

Not Miata related but prior 20psi build I had to close plug gap down to 27 thou to solve a similar problem. This with crane CDI ignition.

Think of air and fuel as resistors. The more you pack in the harder it is for the spark to jump the gap. Higher RPM's mean less time to recharge coils between firings.

IMHO keep closing plug gap and see if you can trigger a change. If so then you know you're on the right track.
