I found my problem.

Still wondering what caused it, only bad on 2. Im leaning towards bad injector but wondering if it could be in the tune. |
Post photos of the other three and we'll all tell you

I have bed memories of this

It was done by fnp tuning and I had a hunch since day one tune was off.
Stock internals(9:1 comp i am pretty sure). 8.5 psi boost. rx8 yellow injectors, 91 octane is the highest we get around here. |
Do you have any logs? I'm interested to hear Andrew's comments. But I will hazard a guess with what I saw.
To me, the VE table looks like it was created while "Incorporate AFR Target" was active, but that feature was later turned off. That, along with the MAT corrections makes me guess running lean. Spark does not seem that bad. Lots of EGO authority, but I'm not sure enough. |

this is from 2 dyno pulls after i switched to 3"

I don't see any glaring problems in the log. I guess the low atmospheric pressure (you only seem to be seeing 87kpa at FT and low RPM) is due to elevation- correct?
Also why is there this dip in your spark advance around 4400rpm? Was it knocking? Is that spark tuned on the dyno? |
Why doesn't your MAT change with boost?
|
looks like it ran pretty lean...

I'm a day away from putting my built motor in and want to be as safe as possible as it wasn't the cheapest thing I've ever bought. Do I revert to the stock tune, break it in, then tow it to the tuner (probably not the same tuner) or will it be fine to break it in with the current tune and drive it over there just staying out of boost?
|
I've never "broken in" any engine. Ever. My dirtbikes go from the dealer to the track. My built miata went from tune to autocross. Like 15 miles, maybe less. No problems ever. Althoigh with my miata, i botched the initial tune process pretty bad. So maybe that counts as a break in period? Not saying no to break in, but I don't do it.
I would go straight to the dyno- tuner. Depending on how far you are, maybe take it to the tuner with the current tune as a base. Otherwise, if you have forged pistons now, it should be safe, for a few minutes longer than the last engine.... |
