ID1000s on a stock 1.6
Car is currently running a stock 1.6 with full I/H/E. Planning on taking this car FI in the near-ish future and long story short some ID1000's fell into my hands. Would it be worth putting these guys in even though the car is still N/A? I have heard that modern injectors atomize fuel better, would it be worth it to swap out my 30 year old 1.6 injectors for the ID1000's even though I'm still N/A, idle better? more stable fueling and AFR's?
Thoughts? Will they help drivability or anything like that? MSPNP2 if it matters. |
no.

Why bother?

Considering I have had to swap my car over from batch to sequential to get "reasonable" idle pulse widths even with flow force 640s..... And my idle has never been quite as good as I could get with the stock injectors (stock injectors with MS)....
To give you an idea, my idle pulse widths, at 14afr, are in the 1.6-1.7ms range, with a 1.24ms dead time. |
I had ID1000's in a pretty much stock + bolt ons 1.8 and it idled better than stock and better than NB purple injectors on both pump 91 and e85. It's a racecar though so I couldn't tell you much about actual driveability concerns.
