Default ID1000 install questions. ALL ID1000 OWNERS GET IN HERE

Ok, so after removing the stockers today I go to install the ID1000's and they don't plug in at all.

WHAT AM I MISSING?

From the description on the site and all info found on here for them, they are supposed to be plug and play. The clips don't look anything like the stock ones in shape.

SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WTF IS GOING ON??

Here is a pic:

The stock clips are square.
The id1000 ones are rounded. the wires/plugs that come with the id1000's are rounded too.

Please don't tell me I have to cut/splice, cause I'm going to ******* throw a shitstorm

My **** was plug and play. Give me a bit and when I get back home I'll look under the hood and see what I have.

Your injector clips are not factory if the old injectors plugged in. This is why we all search for S5 FC injectors and not S4 FC injectors - the S5 connectors (and ours) are all oval, the S4 connectors are square.

You should be able to get the right pigtails, though.

To answer the question in your PM, my harness is rewired with Bosch clips, and then I have adapters to go to the EV6 (? whatever the ID1000 connector is) clips.

My old injectors plug right in, and the RX7 460's plugged right in.
I never touched the harness or wiring or any of that.

Oh god I hope Emilio has the right pigtails.

How does my car have s5 connectors?

Your old injectors look like RC/Bosch clips. Definitely not OEM. Post a photo of your harness.

Well ****.
Another "fun fact" I just now (after 2 years of ownership) found out about my car.

So someone already fucked with the harness then? damn.
So this begs the question: how did the rx7 460's fit then? I never even knew my car had different plugs, and bought them for a normal miata with regular plugs, yet they plugged right in and worked for all this time that I was turbo'd?

Here's pics of harness:

Yep, not OEM plugs. You must not have had 460s that were actually PNP for a stock Miata.

So here's another question:

if my car is already wired for Bosch, would it be easier to just sell these ID1000's are buy some bosch 1000's or try to get different pigtails or what?

the car has to pretty much stand there now til I figure this **** out, and that blows big time.

He doesn't want to have to rewire the car.

You should be able to get the correct adapter for your injectors. Try Emilio at his shop (949-716-3111) tomorrow and see if he's got the right connector.

Are the NA and NB injector harnesses exactly the same? I think I can find a few NA's at the local scrap yard, but I doubt they have nb.

The other problem is most ******s around here won't sell you an injector harness.
Its considered "part of the engine" and they won't part it out.

NA/NB harnesses are the same since all Miata injectors PnP into all Miatas.

Well the black part is definitely a Bosch clip. Does it come undone from the brown part? Almost looks like an adapter.

Post 3 from here shows what the Rx7 clips look like (the high-impedance one). Your injectors are from an S4 Rx7 (86-88), not an S5 Rx7 (89-91).

Put away the tampons, pal. My injector harness is the same as yours, wired for Bosch clips. I know for a fact that the adapters exist because I own a set.

I'll definitely give him a call and see what we can figure out.
Hopefully I can come up with a solution within a couple days so I can have my car up and running again.

Just opened up that black plastic **** and guess what,

they are spliced in

so yeah, they're definitely not stock and 100% been tampered with and definitely look like bosch pigtails.

So I now either need a stock injector harness or just splice in the id1000's like the current ones were spliced in, OR get some sort of adapter if there is such a thing.

Anyone know where I can get either of the 3?
