Ideal EGTs - Turbocharged
 

Digging my car out of storage after about a decade. I have an EGT gauge, but I now can't remember the ideal EGTs for cruise, light boost, and full boost (in my case, 15psi). I did a quick search and didn't find a great thread on ideal EGTs though I gather from my searches that 1400-1450F or so is generally the best temp for WOT full boost near redline. Is there a thread on this site, or a third-party website somewhere, that gives a good discussion of EGTs on turbocharged gasoline (not diesel) engines? Even better if miata specific. I'm not looking for install tips, ideal location of probe or anything like that, since my probe and gauge are already installed properly -- more looking for a discussion of what turbo miatas like for EGTs in tuning for peak power.

You want to discuss temps, but not location of probe. Interesting decision, as the location of the probe dramatically alters the temps measured.

Probe is already installed just prior to turbine inlet, aft of the 4 runners in the turbo manifold. It's not moving, so no desire to open that discussion.
