Most of the ramhorns I've seen in this thread look real nice :)

I do not want to build that mani. Your standard low mounts are difficult enough to build, that one is just screaming "dont do it!" not to mention your bell replacement manifolds. You've really done a good job of keeping people from copying your designs since they're so quirky difficult to build =P

I wanna see pics of this ramhorn!

Damnit and I was proud of my manifold I had but this one is even better

My only 2 concerns in building this so far are:

1- clearance to the AC Idler pulley
2- Ovaling the primaries for 1 and 4. It is near impossible to squish those elbows in that vertical direction.

Just thinking out loud here.

Phil, I didn't ask which type of wastegate you're wanting to use with this.

Ugh I don't know. It's more of a have too thing. I'm running too much boost for internal gate and it's giving me problems. Ideally ID like to find something used and cheap.

Worst case scenario you could always go to the local junk yard and take one off of a turbo audi. Pretty decent sized gates IIRC.

Or just buy an MV-S

EWG is heaven. Target boost every time. The old Audi EWG's are awesomely huge but good luck finding parts for them. The TiAL gates are the standard for a reason.

#2: use a torch and a hammer. That's what I do if the primary is hard to fit in the bearing press. Don't get it too hot or else it might give you problems when you weld. A nice warm glow so that it moves when you wack it is perfect.

I just saw this post. Odd.

Abe clued me in on how to make my manifolds easier. Abe and I = :makeout: no homo.

I'll post pics of the ramhorn once I make it. It's not anything new/unique. Similar to the vband ramhorn posted earlier except upside down (bottom mount with turbine in same spot as andrew's current setup so he can reuse as much downpipe as possible). And actual equal length when measuring the centerline of each primary into the turbine, not 'close' to equal length. So it might look a little funny to some when you add the extra inch or so to the outer two primaries. I don't think it matters much, sav thinks it might matter. I've been wrong many times before and can't wait to see the difference on his setup.

Your guys thoughts?

Does it come with flanges?

TurboTim Jun 10, 2010 07:43 AM

Yeah. Good thing I checked as I used the flanges on someone's manifold/dump apparently. Fortunately I just received a spare set in for that ramhorn manifold I'm doing for sav so I threw them in the box. Hopefully I can track down who has a spare set of flanges in their MVS box :)

It'll ship today directly to you anton.
