Nixed the JDM engine idea, seems too many are not properly taken care of (right, Brain?). I'll install a salvage L/B instead, after replacing as many seals as necessary to facilitate a pleasurable, long-term driving experience (I'm not drunk). With that said, what seals/gaskets would you recommend replacing? Would you replace the Water Pump? Oil Pump? More than likely, this motor will only come with a 30-day warranty, so...

Here's a list of -all- the seals, please pick which you believe to be the best choices for longevity.

Timing Belt (No-Brainer)
CAS O-Ring
Valve Cover Gasket (No-Brainer)
T-Stat Gskt.
T-Stat O-Ring
T-Stat
Rear Main Seal (N-B)
Camshaft Seals (N-B)
Fr & Rr Oil Pan Seals
Oil P/Up Tube Gskt
Intake Mani. Gskt.
Exhaust Mani. Gskt.
Front Main Seal (N-B)
O-Ring for Oil Pump
O-Ring for Oil Cooler
Oil Filter (Serious N-B)
Dipstick Tube O-Ring (N-B)
PCV Valve Grommet
Sparkly Plugs
Tensioner Pulley (N-B)
Idler Pulley (N-B)

Also, I have seriously considered getting a S/S braided line for the clutch since it will be more easily accessible; is there anything else I should consider replacing on the tranny? Would it be wise to update the motor/tranny mounts, even though this car will be stock for now?

I appreciate your time....

Rear main seal? I always make it a habit to replace the throwout and pilot bearings while I'm in there, but you really shouldn't have to.

Thanks.

I plan to, it's a good idea with an engine/tranny that are new to you.
