And R1Rs. Not that you should buy them.

Sav, on a 15" wheel ? I don't consider those tires to be true street tires, the tread wear is to low, sure they are street able, but I don't want to replace $600 worth of tires every 4 months.

They're all 200TW. Last about 20k miles.

My BFG Rivals have 8 track days and 15k Street daily miles and they still have yet to hit the wear bars. I have had them on my car since the first week of June last year and I got them for around $500 shipped.

In what world is a 200tw tire that will go 15-20k miles not a street tire?

I'm more curious why anyone would saddle a 400hp car with friggin' DZ102s. It's like the 1000whp Honda with Walmart Maypop brand tires all over again.

Or he could just buy a second set of wheels? Is that too simple?

So....I'm not sure how that makes my point moot. "Not much" issue in 3rd gear, and I'm guessing 4th and 5th (and 6th if you have it) are fine. That is exactly what I would expect, and doesn't seem any less silly than what I mentioned. Why not use a 225 (and something grippier than a DZ102 maybe?) and get some more traction while still preserving drivetrain integrity?

Then again, I'm not the type to build a tube-front 400whp commuter, and maybe I'm missing a point here. If it happens to be a dual-purpose drift car I'll just STFU and accept everything mentioned as "because drifting", which I have totally given up on trying to understand.

Drifting is pretty much exactly what the DZ102s are good for. And not much else.

The Tube Front car has been parted out, I have another Miata, a 93.

Yes i drift, i have been on the is forum for like 7 years and i have always drifted. Get over it, stupid **** time and time again.

I bought the 15x8/205 combo for cheaper tires as a 205 isn't gonna fit a 15x9 and so that it would clear better with my steering angle mods. I could always have done a 225 in the back, but i figured it would be smarter to keep a square setup so i can rotate the tires. What ever the case, i have brand new tires on brand new rims waiting to go on the car so it is what it is.

I think we have gone just a bit off topic here, i had originally made a comment regarding turbo choice for the k24a2.

While my .82A/R PT5858 on a 2.5 takes a while to spool (coming from small turbo subarus and miatas), once it is the transient response seems instant.
