Knock Sensor Mounting

I have a bosch 2pin knock sensor that accepts a M8 size bolt. Any suggestions on how or where to mount the sensor? My engine is from a '03. I was aiming for the oem location but it's threaded for M10x1.25. I found an M10x1.50 to M8x1.25 stud but I couldn't find one with a M10x1.25 thread. Flyin Miata has discontinued their mounting option with no plans on producing more.

I also read drilling out the inside of the knock sensor to accomodate at larger bolt is a no go.

I also missed the FM knock sensor mount. I purchased a 62mm stud (10x1.25) from belmetric, and was planning to screw that thru the engine mount, use a half thickness jam nut to lock the stud down to the mount plate with some red loctite, then have the rest of the stud turned down and tapped as M8, by bribing the machine shop at work. I dunno how feasible that is considering it is probably hardened. May need to have a machine shop fab one. have searched for a 10x1.25 step stud of any size but have had no luck.

You can have a stud made at any machine shop with a lathe. Alternative you can use a helicoil to convert the block thread to M8

The sensor can be drilled out to M10. Best to use a lathe.
Helicoil also works great and is easiest.
I have used both methods, and like both better than the old FM adapter, which I've also used.
