Default Lifter tick

Hey guys, I've been dealing with my obnoxious lifter tick for about a year and a half now. I've installed new lifters, changed the oil many times, and tried many different oil additives to try to get the ticking to quiet down. Basically, I've run out of ideas and need some help. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! -1992 na miata

Solution is to blow it up and install a NB bp4w or vvt engine. Solid lifters won't tick. If you need to make blowing it up easier draining all oil works really nicely.

On a serious note, have you tried rotella t6?

The thing is with solid lifters is that I don't understand why they "wont tick". A solid lifter in my mind would tick even more. Of course, I'm probably wrong but it seams like it's a lot of work for something that multiple people have fixed simply by adding an oil additive and even a different oil.

I also have another theory that maybe the timing might be off which might preignite the spark but I'm pretty sure that the engine would be suffering a lot more than it might be now.
