Default Bought Mishimoto Rad on Sale sub $2bills, Fittment Question

I just bought the Mishimoto Radiator from the special sale deal that's going until Feb 1 listed in the vendor's section. SUPERCHEAP! Far cheaper than the last group buy on them. (Under two bills shipped)

I believe I've read that the 52mm thick rads from some sources have clearance issues w/fat sways (the hollow ones). Can anyone running them verify this? I'm planning on a sway upgrade eventually.

I mainly wanted to get the word out on the fantastic deal that is flying under the radar and about to expire over on turbochargers.com (on the vendor sale list).

I consider this post helping my brethren take notice and helping the vendor get noticed. I've missed a few deals I would have liked to have been in on already, and don't check the GB's and specials like I should. You guys have been good to me, so here's a heads-up!

I just installed one yesterday, no issues. the only thing is though, I have "pusher" fans in front of the rad. So maybe some trimming of the factory shrouds might be necesary. I can't say for sure though. I know a lot of people on here don't like the mishi rad sighting problems with leaks and pinholes, but mine was perfect out of the box. not the best finish on the polishing, but good for the money.

Pinholes? Don't they pressure test them? I assumed because of the Japanese brand that it is Japanese quality. It's not Cheng Gong for crying out loud.

Truth to the pinhole rumor?

Just because the company is from Japan, does not mean they don't outsource their products to be made in a third world country.

I know Koyo rads are made in Indonesia....or Malaysia, one of the two.

As long as they have good people that stand behind them, I guess it will all be ok.

LOL Just because the name of the company sounds Japanese doesn't mean it's from Japan. Friend of mine imports stuff from China. Gives his stuff Japanese names and always has his suppliers print packaging in Japanese. People just assume it's better quality.

BTW, are these the same as the godspeed/cxracing radiators? I haven't seen a definitive answer about which cheap radiator is the best.

I just installed mine yesterday. Very nice quality. It has "MISHIMOTO" embossed in raised letters across the top tank and comes with a fancy-looking new 19lb. cap. I had no fittment problems except having to open up one of the screw holes on one of the fan mounting brackets 1/8 inch.

It seems to be more than twice the core size of the stock one, but doesn't stick out twice as much because the stock tanks are much wider than the core, but the Mishimoto has a core that is nearly as wide as the tanks.

It's sharp. I can't wait until it is 96*F and 96% humidity again to try it out at the autocross, with the A/C on....
