Machine Shop Recommendation?
 

Hi, looking for a local machine shop that can bore and hone a block. They need to have a torque plate, so thought I'd check with all of you to see if there is a recommendation or two.

My shop uses Kelly's Block Welding in Culver/Palms, I've also used them for personal stuff. It'll take a while but he does excellent work.

I’d maybe call 949 and ask who they use, that shop is probably the only shop in the land that might have a BP torque plate.

But FWIW closed-deck iron blocks really don’t distort much at all with head torque, you’ll definitely be fine without one.

Ah, that is good to know. It was recommended that I use a torque plate but I'm having a hard time finding anyone with one. Thanks for the advice, appreciated.

Found a torque plate on eBay, purchased and now that frees me up to select a machine shop.

Oh, it's always about timing. All done now, without a torque plate. Fingers crossed.Thanks for the post, anyone looking should swoop it up for $250. Then just rent it out locally until it's paid for itself...at least that's what I would have done.
