At what power level do most people recommend ARP main studs?

 

>250whp IMO. They are the second most important thing you can put in a BP, right after forged rods. The part is so cheap and the failure mode is so catastrophic that I put them in every motor I touch.

 

How did i overlook these?!

Any idea what power you can 'get away with' with gentle (few point and squirts down country lanes/overtaking) usage?

Would like to avoid tearing my freshly built and installed engine apart if possible.

 

I broke a factory main bolt at 300whp after ~3hrs of track time. YMMV
