Default Mocal thermo plate that works with 1.6!?

A while back I bought a Mocal thermo sandwich plate to plumb in an oil cooler on my 1.6 turbo only to find I couldn't quite make it work because of the lack of clearance around the oil filter mount. The 1.8s have a coolant/oil contraption there that the 1.6 doesn't have.

Eventually FM came out with a kit but I had already moved on. I'm back in the market now and found that RacerPartsWholesale sells a set up marketed for the BRZ/FRS that looks like it will fit the bill.

I ordered it and will post pics shortly.

Get the oil cooler/warmer and the longer stud from a 1.8 motor.

...or you could spend $50 less on a Miata adapter and just use the longer stud and oil warmer from the 1.8 motor, like I suggested 6 months ago.

I like the sound of that especially since I have a 1.8.
Is that the standard mocal sandwich plate (20mm) that you are referring to?

Yep. I have a full DIY kit available with the Mocal adapter and every fitting and hose you need, as well as a quality Setrab 6-series cooler (different sizes for different applications) and the appropriate rubber-isolated bracket. Just mount the cooler where you want it, route the lines, assemble the fittings, and go. Kits starting at $400. PM for details.
