Most power
I’m building my 93 1.6L Miata I know it isn’t a 1.8 but I want to push as much power I can with the 1.6L what should be the things I should do to get there after I get a turbo kit?

I'd say disconnect the line to the wastegate and make ALL THE POWER
|
All of it

I friggin love these threads!

For how long? Doing what?
30 seconds on a dyno is easy and cheap. 3 min on the street costs just a bit more. 300 hours on a roadcourse makes a Corvette look like a cheap option. |
Get a vasectomy

Read about the previous experiments here along that same line of more power and try to make new mistakes not the same old ones lol.
After you disconnect the waste gate, be sure to wire tie it closed. You loose power if it opens. |
Buy an MS2.
Buy a shitty ebay turbo kit with a crappy T25 turbo. Run it without water lines, oil lines, or an intercooler. Tune it yourself, take wild guesses at AFR and run a flat 25 degrees of timing everywhere, DO NOT set base timing, its a waste of time anyway. Run all the boost it can make. Blow your engine. Buy a K Swap kit. Buy a BMW Gearbox kit. Buy a bigger turbo. Don't do any research, simply come here and post "how to install K Swap BIG TURBO Kit" Tune it yourself. Run all the boost. Blow your engine. Rinse and repeat until you decide to do some actual research then come back and tell us about it, or maybe put the bare minimum in before asking questions. I love helping people but if you aren't even going to put the bare minimum in we won't help here. |
