"mushroomed valves"
So i was bullshiting with the Parts Manager at my local mazda dealer today, talking about our miatas and my engine "build".
I told him that I needed a head rebuild because some valves werent sealing and he said that was extremely common. He said He has seen a lot of miatas that were driven hard (not all boosted) that got bad valves. He told me SS valves are a must if you are reving high. I've never really heard of anyone having major head issues here. I figured mine was just due to high millage cause I had low compression BEFORE I boosted. Any thoughts? |
uh huh.

I've seen many bone-stock miata engines with leaky exhaust valves. They seem to burn easily.

i wonder why stock valves do this so easily?
fyi, the term "mushroomed valves" usually refers to the top of the valve stem "mushrooming" out from extended use. |
