Is anyone going to have a nice writeup on how to wire for dummies and maybe MS settings?
|
Same wiring as COPS. Set dwell to 5MS.

musanovic: I'm taking a stab at this from what I have read (I have these coils in a box, still have to install them).
More experienced members please grade me. From your drawing: B is low current ground (like to the MS or with your IAT/CLT sensors), You ground it like you would anything, but not on a bus with high current devices as that could cause interference. C is the signal from the ECU |

How would you wire in C and B on a NB miata?
6000km, 230whp and a hell of a lot of bagging on and zero issues so far. |
according to the diagram wouldn't you have the high and low current grounds flipped? (if that even matters)
|
oops my bad. I do have it right correct way, I just wrote it wrong.

did you have cops? |
Yes. I melted one of the COPS and this was cheaper to do and has more spark.

Cleanest install yet. You need to fab a few more of those brackets :)
|
Sweet. Maybe something he can consider building and selling?
|
Thanks to ebay.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWNX%3AIT soon to be installed. this will be a chaper alternative thant the toyota cops but more kick to it. |

I see a lot of these in this thread that I don’t think will live very long. There is a huge amount of vibration sources attached to an engine. Cantilevering the coil bracket off a few bolts along one edge of it ends up with very low natural vibration modes for the bracket. I think they will crack after al little while due to resonance vibrations.
But just to add to the thread here is mine. Fabricated bits that mount to the fuel rail and valve cover bolts. Modified 95 intake manifold on a 99 head so I got some room to put them where I did. The tabs to the valve cover bolts cracked a couple times and had to be beefed up. Things have to be stiff to live in this vibration environment for long. https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...9&d=1289972574 https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...8&d=1289972574 Bob |

The grounds don't matter. Bus them to the head. The low current ground is there to support ion sensing mis-fire detection.
