Here's where I installed my sensor. I could have installed it in the spacer, but there was a risk of it hitting the thermostat, so I chose to install it where I did. I removed the oem bolt plug thing and drilled out the hole. Wasn't easy though. I couldn't get a wrench on the sensor because it's located too close to the engine. Had to tap it tight with a hammer / screwdriver. Also had to remove a bit of the connector house for clearance. Still, sensor fits fine and it doesn't leak a bit (used thread sealant and a copper crush washer). Did have to extend the wiring though.
I don't have a heater, so that part was easy .
