New Engine 1.8 in a '94 - Need some input

Building a new motor for my 94 that's about to get a BEGi S3 turbo setup.

Here's what I have

Complete '03 longblock (intake to oil pan) with 30k miles
Fresh 96 Head with some "mild" work done on it (that's the description I got from previous owner???)

and of course the 140k motor coming out of the car (1994)

I'll be running MS engine management with innovative lc-1

Looking for 12psi tops (for now anyway)

What combination of above parts is best suited.

First and easiest is probably 03 short block, with 96 head

Is it possible to remove VVT functionality on the 03 and use complete longblock. There is also the complication of no CAS on the 03, correct?

Don't bust my balls, just trying to start some discussion before I get too far into this.

Thanks,
Ryan

why not get a complete 03 engine. The head from the 99+ has more flow and will make more horsepower than your NA head. Well if your in there you mine as well get some lower compression pistons and forged rods. Hell maybe even a performance crank. Go all out!

find a cheap RPM switch. hook it up to the VVT. dont disable it. if you are going to disable it, you can sell the head and make some money and get a 99 head.

disabling it is saying "I dont care if I spool 500 rpm later and lose 30 ft lbs below 4500 RPM"...

The '03 is a complete motor...I was just thinking the VVT is going to be a problem....
