Default Newb Injector Question

I'm starting to order parts for my 1.6L 16g Miata. The time has come for me to upgrade injectors.

I was looking at these units:

42lb Lucas Disk EV1 High Impedance

440cc high impedance, should be good right? The price seems fair and I'm not opposed to crimping on new clips if need be.

Thanks in advance.

Why not just get some rx7 injectors and save yourself the trouble.

I'd recommend a set of RX8 injectors. They're about the same size, and are very very good.

Everyone wants RX7 injectors, I keep getting beat to the punch in the for sale threads >:|

That being said if anyone has a working set for sale that will be pnp with my MSPnP and my 1.6L wiring harness, I'm interested.

I scored mine on ebay for 73 bucks shipped....for the 460's. Deals are out there, you just have to find them.

Honestly, $136 for brand new injectors doesn't seem too bad provided they'll work in my car with little effort if any.

I agree. Really good price for clean injectors.

the injectors you linked are pnp but can be made to work with the right pigtails.

So they'd install perfectly and all I'd need to do would be to crimp new connectors onto my harness?

I have nothing to contribute to this thread other than to ask... Lucas injectors?

I would buy them, especially if they came with the pig tails, if not, looks like ones of german cars would work. My volvo and saab both had pigtails like that, and they were sveedish.

Anyone know if this would work as a pigtail?

Home » Shop » Connectors / Harnesses » Injector connectors » GM Delphi / Packard - Bosch EV1 Type Injector Connector Kit

If not, could someone point me in the right direction.

Thanks.

The company you linked to in the first post (SprayIt Racing) also sells the appropriate pigtails. And yes, the "EV1" style connector is the one you need.

Side-by-side comparison:

I attempted to install these last night but they didn't fit (I've already got the hats for the top of the injectors). Do I need some sort of other adapter for the female end of the motor?

those look close to my ID injectors....

The ID injectors were a tad difficult to line up in the holes compared to stock just because they dont have the long tips.

If you have the hats and they are the right length, then you are good to go.
the bottoms since they are oring dont really fit into place like the stockers, you just line them all up with the fuel rail on and then tighten it down a tad.

Try this. Remove the green o-rings on the new injectors. Replace them with the lower seals of the stock injectors. If they fit they'll drop right into the head. If they don't bore the seal out with a file.

So what you're saying is that they will just kinda float there?
