Default Nick in Piston - Fileable? - Second Opinions Appreciated

So I got my bottom end back from the machine shop last week. Starting to put everything together and just found a small but noticeable nick in one of the pistons. Don't know when/where it happened.

It seems like it'd be safe to file down and maybe lightly sand with some 1000+ grit sandpaper. What're your guys' thoughts?

File the high spot down and it will be fine.

Are these your final ring gaps? - I ask as the 2nd ring gap finish looks very rough and may want further inspection before assembly.

Leo, thanks. That’s about what I figured, just wanted to be sure.

Plow, yeah I still gotta file that ring down a bit. Just got my ring spreading pliers and wanted to give them a try haha. This is my first ever engine build. Good looking out, man.
