Clean the intake?
I'm waiting on money to start rolling in before I can buy more things; however, I lucked out earlier in the year and scored a squaretop. I cleaned the outside of it today with Simple Green Extreme + pressure washer, but I was curious if it would be worth it to pull it apart and clean out the inside before installing it on the VVT engine I have.
What needs to be done to reassemble it? Any gaskets? RTV?
Thanks.

What year is the car? I have the service manuals.
FWIW: I torque the manifold bolts with a 4 inch, 1/4 inch drive ratchet. Just use your non-dominant hand, and push until they are snug. Lower final pressure than a drain plug.
I also broke the far left rear bolt when I installed mine. No vacuum leaks or issues to speak of.

Guys this is not hard stop bein retarded
The plenum bolts are not load or torque bearing. Tighten then down and make a fukking seal. That is all there is too it.
Also I say only rtv if your boost leak tester shows leaks. Use the metal gasket.
I have taken my plenum off 63,232 times. No leaks. If i can you can too. That or admit you are a worse mechanic then I am.

This is what it did when I put it on my boyfriend's RSX: Hondata IMG temp variations - Club RSX Message Board
I'm sure it's nothing significant power wise, but the more cool air I can get in the motor the better. Plus it did make a noticeable difference in getting the rerouted coolant hose around the charge piping and in swapping injectors.
