Nylon fuel line adapter for 1.6 chassis?

Hi all, first time poster and hoping to get some insight here. I've almost competed a 1.8 VVT swap into my 1991 NA chassis Miata. The later engines use nylon lines with Dorman quick connect adapters. I would like to utilize nylon fuel line going from the chassis hard line out, into the VVT fuel rail. The VVT fuel rail is not the problem since it accepts Dorman fittings, what is the issue is the NA chassis hard line that is the older style "barb" type fitting. Does anyone sell an adapter to change the "barb" style line to accept 5/16 nylon fuel line?

Currently I just have Earls injector hose going from the chassis hard line, onto a Dorman fitting that attached to the VVT fuel rail. Since this will be a race application (fire no bueno) and I don't think the Dorman adapters are made for neoprene injector hose, I'm doubting if this will be reliable.

Attached pics for clarification. One is of the hard line, the other of the 90 degree Dorman fitting attached to the fuel rail that has me a bit worried.

Many people use the Dorman adapters with rubber hose. You could do something more elaborate with more adapters, but that could introduce even more failure points.

PSA: Whatever you do, make sure it does NOT involve any EFI-to-AN adapters that look like this with the plastic clips:
