oil cooler in line preturbo?
Been considering an oil cooler recently; is it possible to run the line from the block, to the cooler, to the turbo? It seems like people are running -10AN lines for their coolers, and I'm pretty sure my current feed line is significantly smaller...

Probably -3an or -4an. I believe it's too small for an oil cooler. You either won't fill the cooler or will loose all your pressure.
Or both. |
Hah, that's what I figured. Maybe I'll upgrade the radiator and just use the stock cooler.

Oil feed lines for turbo tend to be -4AN or possibly -6AN. Oil lines for the oil cooler needs to be -10AN or it is very possible that you have oil pressure issues. Hustler has a thread that goes into what happened when he ran -8AN and had low oil pressure, and then switching to -10AN lines fixed it.

cooling the oil going into the turbo is not going to be as effective as cooling the oil coming OUT of the turbo. you want maximum cooling, you cool the hottest oil and you'll get the best overall average drop in oil temps.

Another question...if I'm getting rid of the ac, can I mount the cooler to where the ac fan was? Our should both fans remain and get wired in parallel? I'm thinking of getting a sandwich plate and thermostat.

begi has something like that.

The real question is what oil cooler you went with. You can check my build thread on how to use an rx-7 oil cooler, and then Hustler and Curly also posted pictures of how they have theirs mounted in my thread.
