Oil priming procedure?
 

I'm just about ready to fire up the motor after a head rebuild & turbo install. I'd like to prime the oil pressure before I try to start it. I've never primed the oil before.
Is there an easy/preferred method? It seems like I might be able to just pull spark plugs so it turns over easily, and shut off spark & fuel from tunerstudio. MS3pro PNP FYI.

If you disconnect the crank/cam sensor it wont inject. Pull the plugs so theres no compression, and crank. My plan is to disconnect the oil drain on the turbo so I know oil is flowing through the turbo, and wait for pressure to build. Then reconnect the drain, hook up the sensors and go.

Basically this. I usually unhook the oil feed line to the turbo and put it in a clear gatorade bottle, and wait till I see oil pressure in my real gauge, and then coming out the feed line.

DIY setup using an old GM oil pickup connected to a drill, an old 5qt jug filled with amsoil, and an AN line connected to the back of the head. Spin the drill until it pumps oil through every passage and you see oil pressure on the gauge.

I did this because EFR is all the monies. Plan on doing the same after engine swap.

I duct tape about 5 ft of clear tube to the end of my shop vac. Then attach the other end to the oil feed for the turbo. When you start to get oil in the clear tube, your done. Takes a few minutes but oil pressure is like 20 psi on first revolution.

Make sure it's set on suck, not blow.
