Oil pumo o-ring and gaskets

I am starting to get the stuff together to assemble my 96 1.8, 7 months after taking it apart. For some reason I could sware there was an o-ring on one of the oil pump ports that connect to the block for oil feed. Is this right? If so does anyone have a part number. I can't find the o-ring on any of the parts diagrams I have and cannot find a o-ring that fits in my rebuild gasket/seal kit.

Some pumps have the o-ring, some don't.

None of 3 that I've got had o-rings. 2 long nose pumps and one short nose.

That explains why I can't find it on parts lists. How do I know if I need the o-ring. i will take a picture of the pump tonight to clarify what I am talking about.

I'm not sure, i'd imagine there is a groove in the spot where the O-ring would go.

The opening towards the top right of the pump as shown has the groove around the port that looks like an o-ring should go there. I did notice today that the gasket that came with the oil pump had this whole area covered so that might be all the sealing that is needed. I just want to make sure that this is done right, after all we are talking about the oiling system here.
Posted pics on M.net instead of here. Got my threads messed up.
Sorry

I am/was also confused about that. Also an o-ring for the water pump. Where the hell does that go? The factory gasket kit I got had both oil and water pump o-rings but I sure didn't see where either would go. Engines together but not installed yet. If I missed something important now is the time for me to straighten it out.

The water pump o-ring is for the bypass pipe.

I am trying to avoid the "Oh, where does this piece go" problems. Especially after everything is assembled. I have the o-ring for the waterpump. If I remember correctly there is one in between the block and pump and one for the heater tube to the mixing manifold. I might just go by the stealership and see if they have a parts diagram that shows that o-ring. Does anyone know what kind of o-ring it would be? My father in-law works at a seal place and can get me any kind of o-ring you can imagine. I just need to know what kind.
