Oil Squirters on a block with a VVT head?
Quick question for you gais!
If I pull the oil squirters, is a 94-00 pump acceptable with a VVT head? Or will I still run into the typical VVT oil pressure issues if I have no squirters? |
If you are building a engine, why not use a 01+ pump? relatively cheap insurance.
I have a 01+ oil pump, 94 block with the squirters, VVT head, and I still can see movement of the VVT valve on the OP gauge. it drops the oil pressure about 10-15 psi but it is only momentary and remember that the transmitter is in the line that feeds the VVT actuator, so I feel confident that the oil going to the bottom end is effected much less. |
Because a BE OP for 94-00 is $300ish, and a BE OP for 01+ is $450ish.
Unless I can get a definite answer, however, the 01+ pump is what I'll go. |
I will pump your squirter. :naughty:

You'll have to pump harder. I think it is clogged.

I will not be the guinea pig for this, so calm down bro! :giggle: I mean, if you are just jealous that hustler offered to pump my squirter, I'm sure he'll pump yours too :naughty: |
